- Local Computer Policy => User Configuration => Administrative Tools => Control Panel => Personalization.
- Then go to the right section of Personalization and find out Prevent changing desktop icons setting from the table of settings.
- Apply double click on it to open.

- Enabled
- Disabled
- Select the Enabled round cell and tap Apply and Ok buttons.
Method-2: Through Registry prevent changing desktop icon in Windows 10

- Launch Run Dialog Box.

- Here find out the following path from the left pane of Registry window: –
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
- If found, go to the roght side and make a right click on blank space.
- Then select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Name this newly created DWORD as NoDispBackgroundPage.
- Press Enter.
- Now make a double click on newly created DWORD page.
- Put the data value 0 for enable the setting.
- For disabling you should put 1 in place of 0.
- Click on Ok button and close the Registry window.

Confirm

- Here from the left menu select Themes.
